“PIONEERS ARE VERY MUCH CONNECTORS AND NETWORKERS. THEY TEND TO LOVE LEARNING, AND RECOGNISE THAT THERE IS A LOT THEY DON’T KNOW. THEY ARE VISIONARY AND ENTREPRENEURIAL.” DAVE MALE
The Church of England says, “Pioneers are people called by God, who are the first to see and creatively respond to the Holy Spirit’s initiatives with those outside the church; gathering others around them as they seek to establish new contextual Christian community.”
Mark has been a Pioneer Minister for twenty four years. He has shared life and faith with communities of all shapes and sizes. He always felt a calling to live with those on the margins and to share his faith through relationships and by investing in the life of the community.
He co-founded Safespace as a community of Pioneers, committed to seeking God in the place they find themselves and joining in the transforming work of God.
As well as being a Pioneer Mark helps Churches and groups to think about how they can understand and engage with the community and culture around them. He teaches Contextual theology and Cultural exegesis - how we understand who God is in our place and time, how we read the world around us and how get involved.
Mark also supports and mentors Pioneer ministers and communities.
